Today’s devotion deals with separating yourself actually being an act obedience and peace and not thinking you are better than others or not caring for others. Actually, all parties involved are expressing disobedience, non-peace, and resistance towards perspective beliefs and movement by remaining united in disobedience. Even the obedient can become disobedient continuously fellowshipping with the disobedient. You can run but you can’t hide, the Bible teaches to “eventually” (give it time to work out) separate yourself from disobedience. Just as important, what makes you not do it? That’s what needs to be dealt with. Are you still hanging around, involved in, or paying attention to circumstances that is unrepentant in disobedience? If so, you have to learn to back up. If not, at least be honest and admit you choose to not be obedient and keep the pot stirred up (non-peace.) There’s encouragement in it all, here it is: If the circumstance calls for it, back up (even the church ex communicates) because it helps God, it helps others, and it’s a form of true kingdom witnessing. Backing up is one of fifteen commandments for true Christians in the text of Ephesians 5:8-21 with verse 11 being the specific command to back up. You and your families have an amazing day and share this devotion with others to encourage them to help God and help others by not being selfish doing it their way by not backing up.
Think of it this way: Would you keep your girlfriend, fiancé, wife, children, mom, or dad in a mess? The hope is that people would back up.
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them”. Ephesians 5:11
