The temperature in a setting can be to an extreme (either really hot or really cold - not perceived as an even temperature by all in the setting) due to various spirits interacting and potentially creating crossfires triggered by transparencies, unadulterations, biblical cannon, and other factors attached to different tolerances and mentalities. However, Jesus examples that an even temperature (not hot or not cold) can exist and be perceived by all in a setting irrelevant of the different spirits, tolerances, and mentalities in a setting (if an even temperature happens once, it can consistently happen.) Jesus by no means compromised his values but he did establish "we can all genuinely get along" in the midst of tempting crossfires due to different spirits, tolerances, and mentalities in a setting.
